We are currently building the foundation. Royal Sporting New York will officially begin fielding U8-U19 Academy teams starting in the Summer of 2026.

Carlo brings over 20 years of high-level player development experience to Royal Sporting New York. His expertise spans professional scouting and collegiate head coaching, ensuring our academy operates at the highest technical standard.

Chris Wingert
A distinguished 14-year MLS veteran, Chris brings elite professional insight to the academy. A Hermann Trophy winner at St. John's, he went on to become an MLS Cup Champion, translating his on-field leadership into club management.

The foundation of Royal Sporting New York is built on a lifelong dedication to the game. Carlo Acquista and Chris Wingert are Long Island natives whose journeys began on these very fields before taking them to the heights of collegiate and professional soccer.
Both graduated from St. John’s University, sharing a history of excellence at one of the nation's premier soccer programs. From there, their paths diverged to cover every angle of the sport: Carlo mastered the art of coaching and player development, while Chris forged a legendary playing career in Major League Soccer.
Now, their combined experience paves the way for the next generation.
With Carlo’s deep ties to the local community and Chris’s insight as an MLS Legend, they have returned to give back to the place where it all started.
